
From 1985 to 1993 Timothy McBride served in served in the Reagan and Bush Administrations as Personal Aide to the Vice President, later President, George H.W. Bush. He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as Assistant Secretary of Commerce for international trade in 1990. He returned to the White House in late 1991 to manage operations at the White House as Assistant to the President for Management & Administration.
McBride is currently President & Chairman of ST Engineering North American. ST Engineering, a Singaporean company which has operated in the United States since 2001, owns & operates a dozen defense and commercial businesses in the United Sates.
McBride previously led global government affairs at United Technologies Corporation (later Raytheon Technologies), Covidien (a medical device manufacturer later acquired by Medtronic). McBride held similar position at other companies, including Sunoco, Chrysler (later DaimlerChrysler), and Freddie Mac.
He is a member of the U.S.-Afghan Women’s Council and is a co-founder of Ayenda Foundation, a nonprofit established nearly 20 years ago to help improve the lives of Afghan children, especially girls. McBride is also a member of the George H.W. Bush Presidential Museum & Library Advisory Board.
He holds bachelor’s degrees in marketing and business administration from Eastern Michigan University. He is married to the Anita Bevacqua McBride, and together they have two children.
