On October 10, Ellen Kullman, Chair of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, DuPont, was the featured guest. Also on that day, Forbes magazine named Ms.Kullman one of the most highly regarded women in the business world, ranking her as the third most powerful woman in American business and one of the top 40 women in the world in terms of power. In her dialogue with President David M. Rubenstein, Ms. Kullman talked about DuPont today, describing the company as “no longer the chemical giant . . . Rather, we’re combining biological science, chemistry, materials science, and engineering to drive new growth opportunities.” She also said that one of the most pressing issues confronting the United States today is the need to create “an appropriate regulatory regime – tax regime – to help U.S. companies compete in a global economy.”
