On September 18, James P. Gorman, Chairman and CEO of Morgan Stanley, was the featured guest. The wide-ranging discussion with President Rubenstein touched on such issues as family life, Gorman’s childhood in Australia as one of 12 siblings, executive compensation on Wall Street, and the state of the U.S. economy. Mr. Gorman was optimistic on the U.S. economic outlook. “I’m more bullish than most Americans,” he said. “I don’t think it’s a recession. I think we’re in strong fundamental shape.”
