The Economic Club of Washington, D.C. is pleased to announce that David Rubenstein will interview David Joyner, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CVS Health. The lunch will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026. The reception will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the luncheon and program at 12:00 p.m., ending promptly at 1:30 p.m.
David Joyner is responsible for an expansive portfolio spanning insurance plans, pharmacies, clinics, and health services that together reach approximately 185 million Americans. Under his leadership, CVS Health delivers a coordinated approach to care for patients and communities across the country that is affordable and accessible.
With nearly four decades of experience, Joyner has built his career at the intersection of health care and wellness, prescription drug coverage, health insurance, and pharmacy. Before becoming Chairman and CEO, he led the company’s pharmacy benefit manager, CVS Caremark. Joyner began his career at Aetna as an employee benefit representative.
Joyner holds a bachelor's degree in finance from The Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University, where he currently serves on the advisory council.
