Economic Club Board member Jodie McLean, Chief Executive Officer of EDENS and Chair of the Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond interviewed Tom Barkin, President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond on Wednesday, February 7th.

Tom Barkin has served as President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond since 2018. He serves on the Fed’s chief monetary policy body, the Federal Open Market Committee, and is also responsible for bank supervision and the Federal Reserve’s technology organization. He remains continually present in the Fed's Fifth district, which covers South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, D.C., West Virginia and Maryland.

Prior to joining the Richmond Fed, Tom was a senior partner and CFO at McKinsey & Company, where he also oversaw McKinsey’s offices in the southern United States. He is a member of the Emory University Board of Trustees and the Greater Washington Partnership. Tom earned his bachelor’s, MBA and law degrees from Harvard University.
